Over 100 New Yorkers have been displaced following a powerful fire that ripped through a Bronx apartment building overnight, according to the American Red Cross.

Firefighters were called to 1215 Grand Concourse in the Bronx just after midnight on Monday for a reported fire on the top floor, the FDNY said.

Officials said the fire spread to the attic area of the building as well. The fire was upgraded all the way to a fourth alarm roughly 50 minutes after battling the blaze.

It took nearly two hours for crews to extinguish the fire, according to the FDNY.

The American Red Cross said Monday that 35 households, including 106 individuals, 22 of those being children, were registered for emergency assistance following the fire. The Red Cross is using a nearby school as the reception center for the affected families.

The FDNY reported that one person was seriously injured in the fire and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
