“We’re going into our fifth year and every year it gets bigger, and people come from all over the state and from Georgia and Florida,” Janie Ellison, Director of the Miss Strawberry Pageant said. “These girls work hard all year, and in March, they are going to give up their title; their time is almost over, but it’s been a great year.”

Other items addressed at the Feb. 3 Thorsby City Council meeting were the approval of a motion to purchase two new trucks for Thorsby Water and Sewer, along with the approval of a surplus list for Thorsby Water and Sewer. Items on the surplus list will be sold by Thorsby.

Also discussed at the meeting was the approval of a motion for a one-time, one-year, $150 discount for the children of the Board of Directors for Thorsby Parks and Recreation on one sport. This is a one-year approved discount that will be looked at again in the following year.
