Trisha Yearwood, Suzy Bogguss, and Terri Clark may have recently had an epic reunion on the Grand Ole Opry stage, however it was a moment behind the scenes that had fans really swooning.
In a video posted to TikTok, Yearwood shared a clip of the three singing an a cappella version of Kathy Mattea’s “Eighteen Wheels and a Dozen Roses” with the caption, “On stage or backstage, the Opry is magic.”
Fans of the country stars, who all rose to fame in the 1990s and who famously collaborated during 1997’s “Girls Night Out” tour, were delighted to see the three together.
“We need a Country Ladies of the 90s music festival on tour stat,” one fan commented referencing the tour.
“Wow what great harmony on this one! How about getting a few or a bunch of these 90’s women of country together for a “Girls Night In” tour?” echoed another.
Others simply felt the nostalgia of the famed country ladies coming together in a candid moment.
“This is a 90’s kid’s dream!” one said.
“Whole body chills,” another wrote. “This is the perfect sound of the 90’s perfect harmony’s and my gosh it took. me. out.”
The three were together to honor Mattea as the fellow country singer was receiving her membership to the Grand Ole Opry. Yearwood got to present the singer with the honor.
“It’s truly humbling and an honor for me as someone you really inspired,” she said on stage. “You inspired me so much growing up, and I can’t believe I get to stand here with your fans, your loved ones, you friends and say, ‘Welcome to the Grand Ole Opry family, Kathy Mattea!”
