It’s all about balance! While it’s fun to spend time with friends, family and go to social events, it’s important to have “me” time. Also, a good work-life balance is essential.
There may be times where we want to relax and recharge. We don’t have to travel far if we want to find places in New York that make this easy.
Hudson Valley Town Crowned As One Of New York’s Best Places To Recharge
According to World Atlas, there’s a list of 8 towns within New York state that we can visit for a “Two-Day Recharge”.
I was instantly intrigued because I’m all about balance and wanted to see where we could go.
Port Jervis, NY made it to this list of must visit for a recharge in New York state. World Atlas included that there are drives with beautiful scenery in this area. The Hawk’s Nest is something that I love seeing along the Upper Delaware River. It’s truly one of my favorite views within the area.
In Port Jervis, NY we can also explore the town. There’s trails to walk, hike and bike on. The Erie Hotel, Bar & Restaurant is a main attraction within this Orange County, NY town. The Tiki Bar there is something worth visiting to relax and recharge!
In addition to Port Jervis, NY, there are other Hudson Valley towns that made the list.

Kingston and New Paltz,NY are on the list of World Atlas’s,
“8 Best Towns In Upstate New York For A Two-Day Recharge”
In Kingston, NY we could explore the downtown area with locally owned businesses to walk to. I had a lot of fun doing the sunset cruise out of the downtown Kingston area.
Also, we could visit the Ulster Performing Arts Center to see a show. Outdoor enthusiasts could unwind on a local walking or biking trail as well.
There’s also a lot for us to experience in New Paltz, NY. This is a great choice for someone who wants to recharge in a relaxed area. Be sure to catch views of the Shawangunks on a walk. There’s locally owned shops to explore along Main Street that may offer sage, palo santo and more.
The famous Mohonk Mountain House is a locally owned resort that offers services in their spa, fitness classes and more.
What Hudson Valley Towns Do You Think Should Be Added To This List?
I agree with World Atlas that New Paltz, NY is one of the best towns in New York state to recharge in. There’s a wide variety of options outdoors, at a resort, local boutiques for healing gifts and more.
In addition to New Paltz, I would also add Woodstock, NY as well. I love visiting Woodstock and walking around Tinker St. It’s fun to see the local businesses including bakeries, gift shops, eateries and more.
Phoenicia and Mt. Tremper areas in Ulster County, NY are perfect, relaxing getaways. I love the fresh air, smell of pine and walking areas in Phoencia, NY. Woodstock, NY also has beautiful views and a calm setting.
