WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A window washer died after he fell seven stories while working at Columbia University’s School of Nursing in Washington Heights, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, the victim fell down to the street when his safety harness snapped at 9:11 a.m. on Oct. 19 at West 168th Street and Broadway.

The victim was rushed by medics to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Columbia, where he was pronounced dead.

According to the New York Daily News, which first reported the story, the victim’s name is Ander Bustamante, and he was only 25 years old.

The state’s Labor Department is investigating the incident, police said.
