CITYWIDE – NYC VOTES, AN initiative of the city Campaign Finance Board, is partnering with Civics For All this February to host interactive trainings for students and teachers on civic engagement. Participants will learn to plan and host a voter outreach event during the group’s annual Civics Week (March 9-13). Brooklyn’s training session will take place at the Brooklyn Public Library’s Central Branch in Grand Army Plaza on Feb. 12, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.
Students ages 14-18 who participate in the trainings are encouraged to apply to the NYC Votes Youth Ambassador Program, starting this week. Ambassadors will earn up to $500 per month for 10-15 hours of work conducting community outreach and learning about city government. NYC Votes will host a Zoom session on Monday, Feb. 9 with more information about the Ambassador program.
NYC Votes, a nonpartisan voter engagement initiative, focuses on reaching New York City voters and equipping them with the resources they need to participate in local democracy.
