We recently reported that Auntea Jenny, a Chinese milk tea chain with more than 9,000 worldwide locations, would be opening a location near Columbia University.
That was wrong, and we are sorry.
:: Lowering our heads in shame ::
The new spot at 2794 Broadway (at the corner of West 108th Street) is called Aunt Jenny “Chinese Food Express,” and it replaces 108 Food Dried Hot Pot, which closed last year after operating at the space since 2017.
The manager, Jessica, told us the soft-opening is today (Wednesday) beginning at 11 a.m. They’re still working on the grand opening date.
Aunt Jenny will serve “Chinese comfort food for the Columbia community,” according to its Instagram bio, offering “Warm flavors, quick bites, everyday comfort.”
An “opening soon” post goes into greater detail:
We specialize in four dishes + one soup combos
served hot, fast, and made for real life.
Perfect for quick, convenient lunches,
and easy dinners after class or study sessions.
No overthinking, no long waits,
just a warm, satisfying meal that fits into your day.
Aunt Jenny is here to become your new go-to spot near campus.
Feel free to follow them on Instagram or TikTok for updates.
