Melania Trump seems to have some big plans for 2026.
Rob Shuter reported in the Friday, February 6, edition of his Naughty But Nice Substack that the First Lady, 55, is planning to make New York City her home base instead of Washington, D.C., while continuing to visit Florida, where her husband, President Donald Trump, has his Mar-a-Lago estate.
“D.C. was always temporary in her mind,” a source told Shuter, noting, “Melania is a New York woman.”
Melania’s son, Barron Trump, is also based in Manhattan, as the 19-year-old is studying at New York University.

“You need to be there for a child nonstop, especially when they need you,” she recently remarked in a Fox News interview. “Especially at that age that Barron is.”
Additionally, insiders told Shuter, the former model is looking to launch an eponymous lifestyle and luxury brand selling a wide range of goods, including fragrance, skincare, fashion items, and home goods. Melania will reportedly collaborate with her stylist Hervé Pierre and even encompass her new production company, Muse Films.
“This is about turning Melania into a global luxury brand,” an insider claimed to Shuter. “New York is where that happens — not Washington.”

“She’s done being decorative,” another insider noted. “This is about control, creativity, and cash.”
As the National Enquirer previously reported, Melania has been carving out her own name, releasing a self-titled documentary with Amazon MGM on Friday, January 30. The film, which was directed by Brett Ratner, chronicles “the 20 days leading up to the 2025 Presidential Inauguration — through the eyes of the First Lady herself,” per a synopsis.
