PLAINVIEW, New York (WABC) — A 67-year-old woman has died after flames engulfed a home in Plainview, New York early Saturday morning.
Firefighters received a call around 2:30 a.m. and worked through intense cold and wind to fight the fire on Sutton Drive, near Route 135.
The Plainview Fire Department was assisted by mutual fire departments from Hicksville, Jericho, Bethpage, Syosset, Levittown, Melville, Westbury and Farmingdale Fire Departments, with approximately 75 firefighters on scene.
Officials say the woman was in the house when she died.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
