The New York Giants are expected to hire Addison Lynch as their defensive backs coach, reports Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports.
Lynch, 36, brings NFL experience primarily from the Denver Broncos, where he spent the last three seasons. He served as a defensive quality control coach in 2023 and 2024 before being promoted to cornerbacks coach for the 2025 season.
However, he was among the assistants parted ways with by the Broncos in late January, alongside offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi and wide receivers coach Keary Colbert.
Before Denver, Lynch held assistant defensive backs roles with the Los Angeles Chargers (2018-2020) and Las Vegas Raiders (2021), and worked as a defensive quality control coach with the Detroit Lions (2022). His coaching career began at the college level after playing defensive back at Bryant University (2007-2011).
The move comes as the Giants, under head coach John Harbaugh, continue bolstering their defensive staff amid offseason changes. Lynch’s recent hands-on work with cornerbacks could aid in developing the Giants’ young secondary.
