STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The service suspension on the NYC Ferry continues during the Monday morning rush hour.

The ferry likely will resume operating if temperatures warm above freezing this week, according to the ferry’s website.

The ferry has not been operating in recent days due to extremely cold weather that has produced dangerous ice and strong winds in New York Harbor and the other waterways around New York City.

Forecasts show temperatures possibly rising above freezing on Tuesday. Crews will continue testing conditions and a “gradual return to service” is expected this week, according to the website.
