The NFL season has officially come to a close with the Super Bowl marking the end of the playing season. The official league year starts on March 11, and the 2026 NFL draft is right around the corner. As teams go through their evaluation processes, Pro Football Focus released its first post-Super Bowl mock draft with the draft order finalized.

The New York Giants have known they have the fifth overall pick for a few weeks, and PFF predicts they will add to Jaxson Dart’s protection detail.

New York Giants: T Spencer Fano, Utah

Developing and protecting quarterback Jaxson Dart should be a top priority for new head coach John Harbaugh. Fano produced a position-best 92.0 PFF overall grade over the past two seasons and would slot in seamlessly as the Giants’ right tackle opposite of Andrew Thomas.

The Giants’ offensive line actually ranked among the top in the league in 2025, but they still allowed nearly 50 sacks. Some of that can be blamed on Jaxson Dart’s development, but not all of it. The bigger issue the Giants have with their offensive line is how old the players are. Marcus Mbow (22) and Evan Neal (25, free agent) are the two youngest. The rest are 26 and older, so they need to add some youth.

Adding Fano, a guy who started every game he played in during college, who was a four-star recruit and the No. 7-ranked offensive tackle coming out of high school, would be a huge boost for the Giants. Fano is a beast; he has good hands, a solid base, and he’s strong.

The Giants would absolutely benefit from having Fano on the line, and he might even be a Day 1 starter. But is that the best use of the No. 5 overall pick?
