NEW YORK CITY — Buying a home in New York City can be tough, but a number of neighborhoods have seen an increased inventory with sellers looking to attract more buyers, according to a new report.

According to an StreetEasy analysis of listing data from December 2025, Bushwick is the best neighborhood for homeowners.

For-sale inventory in Bushwick jumped 30.3 percent year-over-year, giving buyers significantly more options than last year.

Meanwhile, the median asking price fell 16.3 percent year-over-year to nearly $1 million.

Other notable options include the Lower East Side and Williamsburg, according to StreetEasy.

Median asking prices for homes in the Lower East Side dipped 7.2 percent to $1.3 million as inventory rose 11.7 percent year-over-year

Williamsburg’s median asking price dropped 15.6 percent year-over-year to $1.79 million and inventory increased 5.1 percent.

The median asking price for homes in New York City decreased 2.4 percent compared to 2024.
