Laid-off Gateway Tunnel workers rallied at a dormant North Bergen construction site on Monday after a federal judge ordered $16 billion in funding restored, but the money has yet to flow.

2. 1 dead, 1 missing after four-alarm fire in Queens, FDNY says

A four-alarm fire tore through a home in Elmhurst Monday evening, killing one person and leaving another missing.

The blaze broke out around 6:45 p.m. and quickly spread to neighboring houses. Four people jumped from windows and two were rescued from the second floor. Eight civilians, including one who was seriously hurt, and one firefighter were injured

3. City’s Department of Social Services commissioner to step down

New York City Department of Social Services Commissioner Molly Wasow Park is stepping down, with her last day set for March 11.

Appointed in 2023, she led the nation’s largest social services agency, overseeing both the Human Resources Administration and Department of Homeless Services. In a statement, she called the role “the honor of a lifetime.”
