Upstate Proves to Be Most Romantic Place To Visit in New York

If you’re looking for somewhere romantic and you want to stay in New York State, new research shows you should head up north.

The website exoticca.com survey 3,012 couples and asked what destinations “they’d most want to slip away to with a partner this February.”

Those taking the survey were asked “to identify destinations they associate with warmth, comfort, and an inviting romantic atmosphere.”

According to the data they collected in the survey when it comes to New York, couples want to visit Lake Placid. The research shows that smaller towns in NYS work well for Valentine’s Day because “they’re easy to walk, easy to settle into. and better enjoyed at a slower pace.”

Best City For Singles in The US? Not NYC, Look North

Single in New York? That’s okay! A recent report from Consumer Affairs proves once again that Upstate New York is the place to be.

Consumer Affairs reports that in a study of 110 cities in the United State, Rochester New York is the #1 city for singles.

“With 573 out of every 1,000 people single, Rochester is full of people ready to mingle.”  And back on that walkability topic, they say “About 90% of locals live within a 10-minute walk of a park or green space — making Rochester perfect for romantic strolls.”

While it’s not Upstate, New York a West Nyack New York establishment will be hosting a special event on Valentine’s Day 2026.
