QUEEN CREEK, Ariz. — Queen Creek Police are investigating a shooting involving officers in Ironwood Crossing.

Police say one officer suffered minor injuries and the suspect is dead. It is unclear if the officer was transported to the hospital.

Residents were initially urged by police to remain indoors and to secure their homes while they searched for the armed man. Police said the suspect was armed and dangerous and involved in a hit-and-run accident Tuesday night before fleeing into the area.

The suspect was described as an average-built white man in his 20s-30s, wearing blue jeans with a black belt and gold buckle.

The shooting will be investigated by the East Valley Critical Response Team, police say.
