NEW YORK CITY — A 42-year-old man was shot and killed in the city’s first shooting in the subway system this year, police said.
The incident happened inside the 170th St. station in the Bronx just before 3 p.m.
The shooting seems to have occurred on the Manhattan-bound B and D subway lines platform of the station.
The man was shot in the thigh and groin, according to police. He was taken to Lincoln Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The victim has since been identified as Adrian Dawodu of Manhattan.
Police believe the shooting may have stemmed from a dispute between the victim and the suspect.
No arrests have been made yet. An investigation remains ongoing.
