Police are searching for suspects following a shooting in the Kingsbridge section of The Bronx in which several people were reportedly injured.

 

A police spokesperson said multiple people were shot at around 5.10 p.m. at Broadway and West 238th Street and no more information was yet available.

An officer on scene said the shooting took place outside a deli located at the corner of 238th and Broadway. Though not yet confirmed by the NYPD, a witness said at least one person was shot in the back and one in the leg.

 

FDNY/EMS spokesperson said the department received a call at 5.11 p.m. for a report of a shooting at West 238th Street and Review Place. They said two people were taken to local area hospitals and their condition and description is unknown.

One local person said he believes the violence starts at home and that people are not happy in their homes or in their work and that this spills out on to the street.

 

Two local men who said they live in the area for over 13 years said they have never seen a shooting as bad as this.

 

The streets were blocked off from Bailey Avenue as far as Broadway and 238th Street.
