NEW YORK (PIX11) – Two teens were slashed outside a Bronx middle school on Wednesday afternoon, according to sources.
Police received a 911 call around 2:49 p.m. near 2897 Sedgwick Avenue, police said.
A 16-year-old was slashed on the right side of his neck, and a 14-year-old was slashed in the abdomen, according to officials.
Sources familiar with the matter told PIX11 News that the two students were slashed outside the New School for Leadership and the Arts. The school has no metal detectors to scan for weapons, and there were only two school safety agents at the time of the incident.
The two teens were taken to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries. They are expected to survive, authorities said.
No arrests have been made.
