DUMBO – TWO POLICE HELICOPTERS, along with boats from the FDNY and NYPD, were seen circling the East River just south of the Brooklyn Bridge on Wednesday morning in what appeared to be a search effort, while numerous other emergency responders gathered at the edge of the water on the Manhattan side. A report on Citizen made at 11:15 a.m. indicated that a person may have been spotted in the water in distress.
Temperatures had warmed overnight, but drifting floes of ice remained in the water early on Wednesday.
