NEW HAVEN – Amtrak train services operating between New York and New Haven were canceled for Wednesday evening due to a loss of overhead power, officials said.
Amtrak said in a statement that customers traveling between New York and Boston can rebook for another day using its Fare Protect feature, which allows customers to change their ticket at no additional charge or request a full refund.
Amtrak said customers traveling from New Haven to New York and beyond may have their tickets honored on Metro-North services operating between New Haven and Grand Central Terminal. They said crews are currently assessing the issue and working toward a resolution, but do not have an estimated time for service restoration.
