BROOKLYN, Ohio
Shoplifting, Brookpark Road: On Jan. 12, a Walmart loss prevention officer called police after discovering a customer had been stealing merchandise for months from the Brookpark Road store.
An arriving officer talked to the caller, who identified the thief via surveillance footage.
The man was suspected of stealing small amounts of items since November.
The merchandise was valued at more than $129.
Police are investigating.

An arriving officer talked to the caller, who said a man left the business without paying for items valued at nearly $940.

Skip scanning, Brookpark Road: On Jan. 16, police were dispatched to Walmart regarding a shoplifting call at the Brookpark Road store.
An arriving officer talked to the caller, who said they observed a male shopper skip scanning items through the self-checkout lane.
The suspect was attempting to steal items valued at more than $1,000.
He was arrested for theft.
Fraud, Ridge Road: On Jan. 16, police were dispatched to Huntington Bank after a teller discovered a customer was attempting to cash a fraudulent check at the Ridge Road bank.
An arriving officer located the suspect.
The Painesville man was arrested for fraud.
