Longtime community organizer and small business owner Robin Wilt has officially launched a campaign for New York state’s 25th Congressional District seat, which represents Monroe County and part of Ontario County.
In a statement, Wilt says she is running for Congress to be “a bold advocate for change.”
Wilt ran for the same seat in 2018. Incumbent Democrat Joe Morelle won the election that year and has represented the 25th District in Washington since then.
That same year, Wilt briefly ran for state Assembly before dropping out of the race.
Wilt served on the Brighton Town Board from 2018 to 2025.
“At a time when the cost of living exceeds the average family income, access to adequate healthcare often feels out of reach, young people are searching for quality jobs, environmental protections are being stripped away, and constitutional rights are being violated by the federal government, Congressional District 25 needs leadership that is willing to fight in Washington and deliver meaningful results back home,” Wilt said in a statement. “It’s time to realize the power and true potential of the people of New York’s 25th Congressional District.”
The founder of Young & Gifted Ministries, Sherita Traywick, is also running for the 25th District this year.
