The National Court Reporters Association (NCRA), the country’s leading organization representing stenographic court reporters, captioners, and legal videographers, has announced that Marissa Tjartjalis, a student at Plaza College in Forest Hills, has been awarded a $2,000 National Court Reporter Foundation (NCRF) Student Intern Scholarship. NCRF is the philanthropic arm of NCRA.

“I am really grateful to NCRA and NCRF for the opportunities they have provided to help prepare me to be a working court reporter. After having a great experience completing my internship, I am excited to graduate very soon. I look forward to attending more NCRA Conferences and continuing to make valuable connections with the supportive members of the court reporting profession,” Tjartjalis said.

Tjartjalis was one of three recipients of the $2,000 award who were chosen through a competitive application process that focused on each candidate’s demonstrated focus, determination, and a strong commitment to building a career in court reporting. The funds are intended to help to help offset educational and internship-related expenses as they prepare to enter the profession. The Student Intern Scholarship is given annually to up to four court reporting students who have completed the internship portion of their education.
