THE BRONX — Senior Nick DeGrado (19 points) was one of four players to finish in double digits as Moore Catholic registered a 63-57 CHSAA A division triumph over host Fordham Prep in the Bronx on Thursday.

In addition to DeGrado, who finished with three three-pointers, the Mavericks received offensive contributions from Alexander Raphael (career-high 14 points), Eenej Vinson (12 points) and Matt Gibbons (12 points, four treys).

The Mavs improved to 4-17 overall, including 3-13 in league play.

Finbar Duffy and Brian Kapfer scored 14 and 11 points, respectively, for the Rams.

The Mavs trailed 44-41 entering the final eight minutes when they exploded for 22 fourth-quarter points. Not only did Moore received six points apiece from DeGrado, Gibbons and Vinson, but it connected on 12 of 13 free-throw attempts in the period.

DeGrado, who buried three treys, was 6 for 6 while Vinson drained 5 of 6. Head coach Todd Byrnes’ troops were 14 for 16 overall from the charity stripe.

Farrell 59, Tottenville 46

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. —Ryan Hanley tied for the game high with 18 points and JJ Yates scored 10 of his 14 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Lions to the non-league victory over the Pirates in Oakwood.

Farrell, which also received 12 points from Mike Abreu, improved to 14-9 overall with one regular-season game remaining at Colts Neck on Tuesday.

Elias Souleidis led the Pirates (15-10) with 18 points while Danny Garcia (four treys) and Shiloh Ezderman added 13 and eight points, respectively.

The Lions owned a 37-34 advantage heading into the final period when they put together their best quarter of the contest. Yates buried both of his three-point shots and added two freebies while Abreu, Hanley and Gavin Mullen added two-point field goals as the host team pulled away.

Tottenville 66, Brandeis 63

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Lucas Souleidis poured in 26 points and the Pirates overcame a fourth-quarter deficit to advance to the PSAL city quarterfinals with the round-of-16 victory over the visiting Bulldogs Thursday in Huguenot.

Souleidis drained six three-pointers and also buried 6 of 6 free-throw attempts for Tottenville, which will meet No. 2 Eagle Academy of Brooklyn in the quarters on Feb. 23.

Blair Tadros (12 points), Adam Musleh (11 points) and Gasser Youssef (11 points) also contributed offensively for the No. 7-seeded Pirates.

Tottenville trailed early in the 48-40 in the fourth quarter when it exploded for 26 points. Souleidis (trey, 4 for 4 FTs) and Musleh scored seven points apiece and Tadros added six to help head coach Brian Linner’s squad pull out the victory.
