Would you take your AI lover out on a date?

Ahead of Valentine’s Day,

Eva AI, an AI companion company,

set up a popup cafe in New York City

allowing people to bring their AI partners

and chill in a romantic setting.

Visitors could also try speed dating

with some of Eva AI’s 100 AI companions.

The app allows you to chat

or even live video call with your AI companion.

According to a 2025 study from the Kinsey Institute,

a leading sex research center, about 16% of respondents

said that they had experimented with AI partners,

but there weren’t that many actual people at the cafe

who were there with their AI partners.

One of the people we did talk to

says he talks to Eva AI’s companions

to improve his communication.

Some studies have also shown

that people feel a certain amount of shame

or social stigma from having AI relationships,

which could explain why there weren’t

that many people there. What their AI partners.

While this may seem fringe for now,

with AI relationships on the rise,

it may not be long before we see more people

taking their AI partners out for a date night.

So, where would you take your AI boo?
