NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for a man who allegedly used a milk crate to bash a subway rider’s face at Queens Plaza in Long Island City, leaving the victim hospitalized with an eye injury.

The victim, a 27-year-old man, was walking in the passageway of the transit hub around 7:20 p.m. on Jan. 28 when he was assaulted unprovoked.

According to police, his attacker came up from behind and whacked him across the face with the milk crate.

The impact caused a laceration on the victim’s eye, police said.

EMS transported him to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was in stable condition.
