STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A group of co-workers from Long Island and Pennsylvania has won a $1 million Powerball prize from the Dec. 17, 2025, drawing, according to reports.

The 29 winners split the second-prize jackpot equally, with each recipient receiving a one-time lump sum payment between $21,866 and $23,250 after required withholdings, according to Syracuse.com, a sister site of SILive.com.

The winning ticket was purchased at Cigar World in Elmont, Nassau County, with the winning numbers: 25, 33, 53, 62, 66 and Powerball 17.

The group sharing the prize includes 28 winners from Nassau, Suffolk and Queens counties. Another co-worker is from Pennsylvania, according to the report.

Powerball is held in 45 states, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. The Double Play add-on feature is available for purchase in 13 lottery jurisdictions, including Pennsylvania and Michigan.

A $2 ticket gives you a one in 292.2 million chance at joining the hall of Powerball jackpot champions.

The drawings are held at 10:59 p.m. Eastern, Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. The deadline to purchase tickets is 9:45 p.m.
