CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women’s tennis team (4-2) picked up two victories on Saturday (Feb. 14), defeating Queens and Western Carolina in a doubleheader on the Templeton Center Tennis Courts.

 

The Blue Hose opened the day with a 4-1 win over Queens before closing out the afternoon with a 6-1 win over the Catamounts.

In the morning against the Royals, the Blue Hose logged doubles wins on courts two and three, both by a 6-1 score. Mary Ellen Longmire extended the PC lead to 2-0 on court six in singles, dropping just two games. Luciana Parilli did even better on court five, winning 6-0, 6-1 to put Presbyterian ahead 3-0.

Queens got on the board with a straight-set win on court four before Grace Katzman clinched the win for Presbyterian on court three. She grabbed a 6-3, 6-4 victory to secure the victory over the Royals.

In the afternoon, PC nabbed the doubles point against Western Carolina. Katzman and Longmire clinched it with a 6-2 win on doubles court two.

The Blue Hose extended the lead in singles, winning on courts five and six via forfeit. Roxy Valdes, Katzman, and Longmire all picked up singles victories against Western Carolina, helping the Blue Hose finish the day with a 6-1 home win.

– The Blue Hose improve to 6-5-1 in the all-time series against Western Carolina.

– Grace Katzman and Mary Ellen Longmire are now 4-0 as a doubles team in 2026.
