NEW YORK (PIX11) – A 2.2-magnitude earthquake shook upstate New York on Wednesday, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The earthquake struck 8 miles north of Pulteneyville and about 30 miles away from Rochester around 6:20 p.m. Most residents in the area reported feeling weak to light shaking, according to the USGS.
Another earthquake rocked upstate New York just last week. A 2.6-magnitude earthquake was felt near Chazy around 11:40 p.m. on Oct. 13, with nearly 100 people experiencing shaking.

A 3.0-magnitude earthquake hit New Jersey in August, with people in New York reporting that they felt shaking. A second earthquake struck the state just two days later, with a magnitude of 2.7.
