
Rochester, N.Y. (WROC) — Many of us are now waiting for – and perhaps dreading – the next energy bill, which will reflect the universal effort to heat our homes during this brutal stretch of cold weather.
On top of the increased usage is rising energy costs.
Cornell Professor Rick Geddes says that rise is the result of basic supply and demand.
With more people using more electricity, plus businesses like new data centers, the energy grid is maxed out, Geddes said.
He talked with Adam Chodak on Friday about why energy supply and delivery haven’t kept up with demand and the steps necessary to play catch-up.
