NEW YORK (PIX11) — A light dusting of snow will welcome some tri-state residents to Presidents’ Week.

The overnight temperatures on Sunday into Monday should dip just below freezing in New York City, Long Island and northern New Jersey.

The wet snow, given the ground temperatures, shouldn’t accumulate much more than a dusting for most areas. The low-grade storm system should be out of the area by Monday morning when the temperatures rise above 40 degrees in the city.

The seven-day forecast is showing some wet weather for the tri-state area, though.

Tuesday could have a chance of sunshine before the clouds linger through the rest of the week. Temperatures should stay in the mid to low 40s throughout the entire week, with showers popping up on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

Nighttime temperatures should stay above freezing in New York City.
