This week, most kids across Western New York are off from school for mid-winter break, and if you are looking for something to do, you can ice skate for free at Canalside.

Free Ice Skating This Week At Canalside

Grab the kids and get ready to lace up your skates and enjoy free ice skating at Canalside this week. Project Play WNY and Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield are sponsoring Winter Free Play at the ice rink at Canalside. Admission and skate rentals will be free starting on February 17th  through the 20th from 10 am until Noon.

The ice rink is closed today and every Monday for maintenance. Here are the hours for ice skating at the rink for the rest of the season.

Tuesday: 11 AM – 2 PMWednesday: 4 PM – 8 PMThursdays: 4 PM – 8 PMFridays: 1 PM – 9 PMSaturdays: 11 AM – 9 PMSundays: 11 AM – 8 PM

Walden Galleria Offering Kids Activities This Week

If you don’t want to ice skate outside this week, you can still stay busy and nice and warm indoors at the Walden Galleria. The Galleria is hosting its Winter Kids Club 2026 series this week.

It is a series of free events & activities all week long, starting  Monday, February 16th, and going through Friday, February 20th. Kids & families can enjoy a free morning event or activity each morning during February Break Week at Walden Galleria.
