STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A crash on Monday morning at a major intersection of Hylan Boulevard in Great Kills sent one person to the hospital.
The crash was reported at 4:35 a.m. at Hylan and Nelson Avenue, with one person transported to Staten Island University Hospital-North Campus in Ocean Breeze, according to a spokesman for the FDNY.
The spokesperson did not provide a condition for the injured person.
A white Toyota minivan with TLC license plates was seen on the Tottenville-bound side of Hylan Boulevard with significant front-end damage and the airbags deployed.

Nearby, debris from the vehicle was scattered around a bus stop and utility pole on the side of the road.
By 6:10 a.m., the Toyota minivan had been loaded onto a tow truck.
Although snow was expected overnight, it is unclear if the weather played a part in the incident. By 6:10 a.m., the streets were wet but clear.
