A mob wife who accused her convicted killer husband of planting a fake bomb outside the home they shared now believes it was one of his ‘associates’ – telling the Daily Mail that the gangster has been begging her to get back together from behind bars.
Christina Liverano, 40, was left ‘terrified’ after waking up at 3am last Thursday to find a blinking package on the stoop of her home in Staten Island, New York, four weeks after she had filed for divorce..
The mother was forced to flee her home with her two children all while filming the suspicious object at the front of her house, telling the Daily Mail she wanted police to see evidence of what it was ‘in case she died’.
Her ex, Mark Liverano, is a low-level associate of the Gambino crime family, according to police sources.
Speaking exclusively to the Daily Mail, Christina, an executive at a local college, explained that she was terrified by the package because she has been ‘threatened and stalked’ before.
‘I’m still recovering’, she said. ‘We’re not even divorced yet, he hasn’t been served with the papers that I’ve filed.
‘I woke up earlier than usual and looked outside, and I saw this blinking device on my stoop and I immediately called the police,’ Christina said.
‘I asked him to leave the home in December, he left, and was since arrested but he is still harassing me from behind bars.

Liverano now believes the device may have been planted by an associate of her jailed husband, Mark Liverano
‘There have been several incidents and I have to report everything but this one got a huge response. The whole street had to be evacuated.
‘He sent me two bouquets of flowers today after this incident, one for me and one for my daughter, it’s crazy. It became a really really toxic relationship.’
Photos obtained by the Daily Mail show the strange looking device with white tape and a flashing green light left on her stoop.
A specialist team was called in to dispose of the object, which was not found to be viable by officials. An investigation is still ongoing.
Authorities previously told Christina that her husband was a ‘very dangerous person’, though she insists during their eight-year relationship he was ‘never violent’.
She had to flee her home in the early hours with her two children, aged 11 and 13, through the garage because the backyard gate was shut.
‘It was horrible’, she added. ‘I am recovering from the most horrible day of my life.
‘I don’t think it was him directly, maybe from one of his associates because he has been wanting to reconcile with me.

The NYPD bomb squad responded to the scene and later determined it was not a viable bomb

‘He’s violating court orders and mailing me letters, and sending me very lovey-dovey messages, wanting to have our family back together.
‘We’ve had major fights, but I had never known him to be violent. I can’t picture my husband, doing something like this. But they’ll get to the bottom of it, and if he did, he’ll be prosecuted.
‘Maybe it’s somebody who is an enemy of his and just wants to hurt me as a way of hurting him. Someone could be trying to frame him, I just don’t know.’
Christina received a box of multi-colored roses and a balloon a few hours after the device was found, along with a note which read: ‘Happy Valentines Day, I miss you, love always Mark.’
In December, the NYPD charged Liverano with aggravated harassment for allegedly threatening to kill his then-wife and her children with a high-powered rifle.
‘I will come to your house and blow up your head with my AR-15, and your kids’ head with my AR-15 also,’ he allegedly told her in a phone call the night of December 7, causing her to fear for her safety, according to the criminal complaint.
He was indicted four days later by federal authorities for other alleged crimes including stalking, extortion and weapon and drug charges.
Christina’s home was raided by the FBI three years ago as part of the investigation, which she insists is separate to her harassment claims.

Mark Liverano, 58, a low-level associate of the Gambino crime family, was previously charged with aggravated harassment for allegedly threatening his then-wife
But she has revealed that it’s not the only threats that have been made against her.
‘Several restaurant owners in Staten Island have approached me to say “your husband called, he knows you’re here, and you have to leave”. It happened to me four times’ she revealed.
‘He is very, very jealous. He doesn’t want me talking to anyone, he doesn’t understand we’re getting divorced, He’s very possessive. He doesn’t want me out in public with men looking at me.’
The buxom blonde insisted that she wasn’t aware of her husband’s alleged gangster links, and didn’t ‘give much weight’ to suggestions of mob links.
‘I thought it was just a bunch of old guys hanging out, reminiscing about the old days’, she said.
‘I didn’t think stuff like this still really went on.’
But she has since been forced to ‘rethink’ Liverano’s past after several incidents left her feeling terrified.
Following his threats to shoot Christina and her children, Liverano was released and showed up to her home before he was charged with the separate incident.
She claims he scared off realtors who were assessing the home, walking into the house and telling them he was ‘not okay’ with it being sold.
When the Daily Mail arrived at the Staten Island home last week, both the property and street were still taped off
Christina told Liverano that she just wanted a ‘fresh start’, but she was scared of confronting him directly.
‘He was refusing to allow it to end,’ she said. ‘He would wait for me outside, as I was getting my nails done, demanding to talk to me.
‘I would have to get in the car, and we would talk. And so overall I was very afraid, so I just played along.’
Over the past several weeks she has also been forced to report several ‘cyber attacks’ to officials, as well as instances of being followed.
She confirmed that she hadn’t been to visit her husband, and even if she was allowed she would not want to see him, adding that she has felt ‘1,000 per cent safer’ since he was locked up.
When asked if she has a message for Liverano, Christina said: ‘I had a whole other life before him. I want to continue my life in peace.
‘I want to continue my professional career, my education. I think there’s been enough damage as point. And I wish him the best.’
Records show that Liverano, 58, is currently locked up at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, on a 9-count indictment.
The couple married in 2022 after meeting by chance in a tanning salon parking lot
They split in early December after eight years together, with Christina explaining they ‘grew apart’ and had ‘different expectations’ for their lifestyles.
‘I’m a PhD candidate, and he spent most of his life in prison’, she added. ‘I think he wanted more of a party lifestyle and I wanted a business and a serious lifestyle.
‘He doted on my children when I met him. It was like a dream come true, because I was married once before and I went through a very difficult divorce.
‘He was my knight in shining armor when he came along. It’s unfortunate, I am genuinely shocked how this all turns out. It feels like a bad nightmare.’
The mother-of-two also revealed that her soon-to-be ex-husband is still waiting on open heart surgery after his arrest in December last year, adding that he was ‘in a bad way’.
She married Liverano in 2022 at a ceremony which she described as her ‘dream wedding’ at the exclusive River Café in Manhattan, overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge. She filed for divorce on January 23.
The couple hit it off after a chance meeting in a tanning salon parking lot, when Christina crashed her Porsche into a sign, catching Liverano’s eye.
He insisted that she give him her phone number, and when she refused, said: ‘I know where you live anyway, and I know where you work out, so I’ll see you around.’
Liverano said that during a heated incident in December, her husband threatened to come to the home and kill her and her kids with an AR-15 – leading to the NYPD charging him with aggravated harassment

Eventually he caught up with her at the gym, and after three months convinced her to go on a breakfast date, with the pair becoming inseparable and going on to marry.
Liverano has a violent history and been incarcerated in the past.
He pleaded guilty to manslaughter after shooting father of two, Richard Boeke dead. Boeke, a 37-year-old bouncer was trying to break up a fight outside a bar in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. Liverano was paroled in August 2014.
After being released from prison, he briefly dated New York City police officer Nancy Heinz, the Daily News reported back in 2016.
He accused that officer – who was nicknamed the Marilyn Monroe of the NYPD – of trying to get him to kill her ex-husband, the paper reported.
He was indicted on December 11 by a federal grand jury in the Eastern District of New York. His requests for pretrial release have been denied, court records show.
He is being represented by lawyer Joseph Corozzo Jr, though prosecutors want him removed from the case, describing him in court papers as ‘a fact witness to the defendant’s criminal conduct, who either could be called by the government as a witness at trial or who could impermissibly act as an unsworn witness at trial.’
Corozzo is a well-known mob lawyer, and his late father Joseph ‘Jo Jo’ Corozzo was the reputed consigliere of the Gambino crime family.
