Actress Maya Hawke and singer Christian Lee Hutson exchanged vows during a surprise Valentine’s Day ceremony on Saturday with family and friends gathering to celebrate the couple’s nuptials, PEOPLE reported.
The 27-year-old “Stranger Things” star and the 35-year-old musician tied the knot in front of Hawke’s parents, actors Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke, along with several of her co-stars from the Netflix series.
Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton and Joe Keery were among those in attendance, the report said.
According to the outlet, Hawke wore a white wedding dress paired with an oversized feathery winter coat, while Hutson opted for a classic tuxedo.
Thurman, 55, wore a light blue gown with matching shoes, and Ethan Hawke, also 55, wore an all-black ensemble. Maya’s brother, Levon Roan Thurman-Hawke, also attended the ceremony.
Hutson publicly confirmed his engagement to Hawke during an interview with “SoCal Sound Session” last year. When host Julie Slater mentioned that Hutson worked on the track “Carousel Horses” from his album “Paradise Pop. 10″ with Phoebe Bridgers and his “fiancée” Maya, the musician confirmed, “Yeah,” the report said.
In April 2024, Hawke was photographed wearing a diamond ring on her wedding finger. That same month, the couple made their first red carpet appearance together at the opening night of “John Proctor Is the Villain” at Manhattan’s Booth Theater, where Hawke supported her co-star Sink.
The couple’s relationship began after they met while recording music together,” according to PEOPLE. The New York-based Hutson opened for Bridgers on tour between 2022 and 2023 and was featured on Hawke’s 2024 album, “Chaos Angel.”
During an interview on the “Zach Sang Show” in July 2024, Hawke spoke positively about their relationship, the report said.
“It’s awesome. I cannot recommend highly enough dating your friends. It’s the best. They know you, and as a human being who has dated other people,” Hawke said. “They really know you as a person who has feelings … not just a piece of paper for them to project their image of perfect girlfriend onto.”
