The competition went down on Friday, February 13th, but the results were announced at the awards ceremony on February 14th. Sharing a much-deserved Valentine’s Day embrace atop the podium, Tristen “Pants” Lilly and Piper Kunst proved that the “Alta Mafia” came to Jackson with a plan. With over a foot of fresh snow coating the venue, the conditions were prime for the heavy-hitting runs that secured their titles.
Kunst’s Masterclass in Airtime
Piper Kunst, who first took the throne in 2022, put on a masterclass in technicality and composure. Tristen Lilly known to the community as “Pants,” secured his crown with his second run. After a front flip off the lip and a backflip in the middle, Pants opted for a”billygoat” line over a cliff. He capped the run with a bio 720 off the final jump, cementing his status as the 2026 King.
2026 Kings and Queens Podium
The competition was tighter than ever this year, with heavy hitters pushing the limits on every hit:
TGR-athlete Kelly Hilleke took 2nd place in men’s ski, throwing an enormous double backflip that many thought would take the win.Alex Hackel rounded out the podium with his signature effortless style and creativity.Wyatt Gentry wowed the locals by opening up a previously untouched line on the far skier’s right.Valerie Festavan secured 2nd for the women, lacing a massive switch cork 5 off the money booter at the bottom.
This year’s competition was a reminder of why we live for these moments. As the crowns find a home in Alta this season, the bar for 2027 has officially been raised.
