(Image via Getty: Travis Kelce and New York Giants logo) Radio Hall of Famer Craig Carton recently said on his podcast that Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce does not want to retire and may return for another year. He called it a rumor and said Kelce wants to come back but does not want to play for his current franchise. Instead, Kelce wants to join John Harbaugh’s New York Giants. Carton added that playing for the Giants could let Kelce live with his soon-to-be wife, Taylor Swift, so the billionaire pop superstar could attend every game. She reportedly does not have a tour planned for 2026, and Kelce could enjoy the spotlight in the biggest media market in America. Carton repeated that it is a rumor and said it would bother everyone in Kansas City. He ended with a warning: “Do not sleep on the New York Giants signing Travis Kelce this offseason.”
Giants tight ends include Chris Manhertz, Theo Johnson, Daniel Bellinger, and Thomas Fidone
Sports Illustrated’s Brandon Olsen recently reported that Theo Johnson and Thomas Fidone II should still be with the Giants in 2026, with a presumed third tight end in Daniel Bellinger or a free agent. Someone has to be left out, and that could be Chris Manhertz. If the Giants keep four tight ends on the roster, or three and a practice squad call-up, then Manhertz should stay. This assumes Manhertz wants to keep playing in 2026. He was signed for 2025 on a one-year, $1.4 million contract. He is a 33-year-old veteran with 10 years of experience. [Just a speculation] if the Giants move on from Manhertz, they could look at Travis Kelce, who is on the market with his Kansas City contract expired [technically on March 11]. Recent rumors say he wants to keep playing. The thought of living where one’s spouse is also plays a significant role.
Taylor Swift reportedly lives in New York City, so the Giants could be an option for Travis Kelce
Page Six’s Leah Bitsky reported in Oct. 2025 that Swift bought two adjacent penthouses at 155 Franklin Street in Tribeca for $19.95 million in 2014 from “Lord of the Rings” director Peter Jackson. She combined them into one home with 10 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, and a billiards room.Four years later, the “Love Story” singer bought the second-floor unit in the building for $10 million in an off-market deal, adding 3,540 sq-ft. In 2017, the NFL WAG bought a townhouse next door for $18 million. The three-story home features a gym, a spa, and more. It has seven bedrooms, six bathrooms, and a separate apartment for her security team. She updated her Franklin Street compound and submitted permits to the NYC Department of Buildings for renovations totaling over $1 million. With much to consider, the 11-time Pro Bowler may choose the New York Giants as his next stop for the 2026 season.
