Cruz Beckham marked his upcoming 21st birthday with a lavish party in the heart of Mayfair, surrounded by his devoted family and beautiful girlfriend, Jackie Apostel.

While the event has been described to HELLO! as a “raucous affair,” a source close to the family explained that the ongoing drama with his elder brother, Brooklyn Beckham, “was the elephant in the room.”

“It was definitely an emotional night for everyone, but it was more tears of joy and laughter all round. With everything going on the family just wanted to celebrate. Of course, it felt like the Brooklyn drama was the elephant in the room. But they were not going to let it get in the way of celebrating Cruz’s big night.”

They added: “It was a really raucous affair, and it seemed like the family wanted to let off steam, and needed to.

Since the big night on Sunday, all of Cruz’s family, including his A-list parents, David and Victoria Beckham,  as well as his extended family, which included his cousins, Libby Adams, Tallulah Histed, aunts, Joanne and Louise, have been featured in a slew of joyful images from the celebrations.

Another source explains that the pop culture power couple, Victoria and David, wanted to ensure that their friends and family’s children were also invited to what they described as an “alcohol-fuelled bash.”

They said: “Everyone at Cruz’s party had a brilliant time. It was lots of fun and very alcohol fuelled. It was packed: there were loads of people there, and David and Victoria made sure that their friends’ and family’s children were all invited – like their nieces and nephews and Emma Bunton’s son Beau – so there were lots of people who were around Cruz’s age.’

Family was certainly at the centre of the evening, with Harper, Victoria and Jackie all taking to the stage to share speeches, before Cruz took to the stage for a musical performance.

Other than Cruz’s retro powder blue suit jacket and fun, vibrant tie, the dress code for guests was all black, adding a chic twist to the evening.

With a glamorous dress code also comes an equally glamorous menu. During the evening, guests enjoyed an all-American feast, including cheeseburgers, hotdogs and fish tacos, as well as  The MAINE’s classic New England style dishes, including their signature roman artichokes, tuna tartare and sea bass.

The Beckhams love to party

It’s no secret that the Beckham family know how to throw a killer bash. From Victoria’s 50th birthday party, which saw her reunite with her fellow Spice Girls in her Holland Park living room for an impromptu performance, to David’s star-studded 50th bash last year, attended by Tom Cruise.

Their friend DJ Tony attested to this when he appeared on This Morning following Brooklyn’s bombshell 800-word statement last month.

Talking to Alison Hammond and Ben Shepherd, he explained: “I’ve done an awful lot of Beckham parties in the past, they are a very dancy, close-knit family. They love to dance.”
