A report was issued from the National Weather Service on Tuesday at 1:31 a.m. for freezing rain until 9:45 a.m. for Herkimer, Hamilton, Fulton, Montgomery, Saratoga, Warren, Washington, Schoharie, Schenectady, Albany, Rensselaer, Greene, Columbia, Ulster and Dutchess counties.
“A light wintry mix, including spotty freezing rain, will continue across portions of eastern New York and adjacent western New England through mid morning. This will create locally slippery driving and walking conditions. Motorists and pedestrians should remain alert to possible icy ground surfaces through mid morning, especially elevated road surfaces such as bridges and overpasses, as well as driveways, sidewalks and parking lots,” explains the weather service.
