Mayor Eric Adams said Thursday he will endorse former Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo in the New York City mayoral race.
Adams, a Democrat, ended his re-election campaign last month after it became clear he had no path to victory in November. He had criticized Cuomo, running as a third-party candidate, for pressuring him to drop out, calling him “a snake and a liar.”
The New York Times called Adams’ decision a “stunning reversal” as Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani has the momentum in the race.
