QUEENS, NY — A 16-year-old boy had to be rescued by emergency personnel after losing his footing and falling down a shaft on the Queensboro Bridge in a botched TikTok stunt on Monday, police said.

Firefighters found the boy in a shaft on the Manhattan-bound side of the bridge around 9 p.m. Monday, the FDNY said on Tuesday.

The teen is believed to have gotten stuck after he allegedly planned to record his stunt to post on TikTok, officials told the New York Daily News.

The boy fell 50 feet after losing his footing, according to reports. He was taken to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell in critical condition.

More than 75 firefighters and EMS personnel responded to the scene, the FDNY said.
