NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Queen Zulu Sharell Monique Chatman, a resident of Jefferson Parish, reigned through the streets of New Orleans for the Zulu Parade Tuesday morning.

Chatman is an engineer and the niece of Zulu King Dr. Ron Tasson.
She said this has been a very emotional year and that she has been ready for this moment her entire life.
Chatman wore a gown and crown and carried a scepter as members of her royal court accompanied her. She smiled as she greeted the crowd.
