Albany County Legislator Frank Mauriello has launched a campaign for state Assembly.

Mauriello is seeking the Republican and Conservative party nominations for the 110th state Assembly District, currently held by Democrat Phil Steck, who has held the seat since 2013.

“New York is broken under One Party Rule in Albany – I’m running to fix it in the State Assembly,” Mauriello said in a statement. “For more than 10 years, our representative in the 110th Assembly District has failed to deliver real results for working families, small businesses and everyday taxpayers. Utility bills have skyrocketed. Taxes are too high. People are fleeing our state at record rates. It’s time for a change in Albany – the status quo isn’t working.”

Mauriello is currently serving his third term in the Albany County Legislature. He previously worked on the Colonie Town Board for a decade.

“This Assembly District is where I was born and raised. I know the people and their needs. I am committed to being a full-time State Assemblyman, 24/7/365 – the residents of this district deserve nothing less,” Mauriello said in a statement.

New York’s 110th Assembly District covers the towns of Colonie and Niskayuna, and parts of Guilderland and Schenectady.
