On February 14, 2026, at approximately 9:45 p.m., members of the New York State Police responded to a residence on West Main Street in the town of Norfolk to assist the Norfolk Police Department with a report of a deceased individual inside the home.

Upon arrival, officers from the Norfolk Police Department and New York State Troopers entered the residence and located a male who was unconscious and not breathing. The individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The deceased was identified as Robert G. LaBarge, age 67, of Norfolk, St. Lawrence County.

Search warrants were executed at the residence. The New York State Police Forensic Investigation Unit responded and processed the scene.

The St. Lawrence County Coroner responded and ordered the removal of the body.

An autopsy was completed at Glens Falls Hospital by Forensic Pathologist Dr. Michael Sikirica. The cause of death was determined to be cardiac arrhythmia due to severe emphysematous lung disease. The manner of death was ruled natural.
