Mark the date it has officially snowed in New York State. Like it or not the seasons drastically change here in New York state just two weeks ago it was nearly 80° outside and now we are talking about snow and parts of the State.
The New York State department of transportation posted on Thursday afternoon that snow is officially arrived in parts of the state:
“❄️ OH YEAH… or OH NO?! 👀
It has begun! These photos were taken today on the Whiteface Veterans Memorial Highway in Essex County – one of the first snowfalls of the 2025-26 winter season! 🌨️
Whether you’re ready to wax the skis or still clinging to pumpkin spice season, there’s no denying it… Winter is knocking at New York’s door. 🚪☃️”
You can see the pictures here.
Earlier this week there were some European models that said there’s potential snow coming for some of a New York State for Halloween when the kids are trick-or-treating. Obviously, we are still a little ways away from trick or treating but the 10-day forecast had a potential threat for some big weather activity.
It would not be the first time that it has snowed on a Halloween in New York state specifically 2011 and 2017 there was a lot of snow on the ground when kids went trick-or-treating. You can bet that a lot of people are going to be getting ready for Christmas shortly after the Halloween season this year before the snow really starts to fall in New York state.
