On Saturday, February 7, the Queens Borough Semi-Finals for the 6th Annual NYC Minecraft Education Battle of the Boroughs (BOTB) Esports Competition declared the following Queens schools as finalists:

Elementary School Winners: PS 239Q The Furious Firebirds

Middle School Winners: P.S./M.S. 200 – The Magnet School of Global Studies and Leadership

High School Winners: Young Women’s Leadership School, Astoria

The teams will participate in the finals at the NYC Video Game Festival in May.

Presented by the NYC Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment in partnership with NYC Public Schools, BOTB challenges K-12 students to build a more inclusive, sustainable, future-ready New York City in Minecraft while developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
