STATEN ISLAND,, N.Y. — The NYPD is investigating a report of an armed robbery at a store in Rosebank early Friday morning.

The incident occurred at about 2:55 a.m. at 1272 Bay St. near St. Johns Avenue, according to preliminary information from a spokesman for the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.

A 24-hour deli is located at the address supplied by police.

An individual displayed a firearm and removed an unknown amount of money from the register. The suspect then fled in an unknown direction, the police spokesman said.

The suspect is described by police only as a male wearing all-black clothing.

No arrests have been made and the investigation continues, the police spokesman said.
