NEW YORK (PIX11) — A winter storm watch has been issued for New York and New Jersey by the National Weather Service ahead of a weekend snowstorm.
The winter storm watch will be in effect from Sunday morning through Monday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
Heavy snow is expected to cover the tri-state area, bringing reduced visibility and hazardous conditions. The combination of wet snow and gusty winds could also bring down tree branches.
Parts of New York City, Westchester and Putnam counties, Nassau County, northeast New Jersey and parts of Connecticut are expected to get anywhere from 3 to 10 inches of snow, forecasters say.
