WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – Watertown’s KFC restaurant on Arsenal Street has been condemned.
There’s a notice on each entrance of the fast food business.
Watertown’s code enforcement supervisor says the building had to be condemned because water damage on the roof caused part of it to collapse. The building’s safety and cooking systems were damaged.
Watertown officials believe the goal of the business is to make repairs and get back in business.
“We’re working with them also – multiple calls per day. They’re well aware of the impact to their business. We are as well. So we’re working with them and they’re making big strides to get us the information that we need,” said Dana Aikins, Watertown’s code enforcement supervisor.
There was some work being done on the roof.
